Attacks on Shah Rukh Khan intensify: Amitabh, Aamir, Salman, Akshay and now- court cases!
They say his kingdom is under threat. It seems the whole world has turned against India's, arguably, most successful film star Shah Rukh Khan (SRK). Others point out, it was a black Wednesday (6th August) for him. Exaggeration? Read on this idiot's guide to the 'Inner World Of Shah Rukh Khan's Feuds With Foes & Friends':An exclusive feature by a Bollywood insider
- Senior actor Manoj Kumar takes legal action for defamation against SRK and his film 'Om Shanti Om', Wednesday, August 6. The Mumbai Sessions Court ordered the producers of the OSO to delete the scenes featuring Manoj Kumar before the movie is aired on Sony TV on August 10. Now Kumar plans to seek millions of rupees in compensation for defaming a 'patriot'.
- A social worker files a Public Interest Litigation case for admittance before the Bombay high court against the alleged illegal construction done by the actor while constructing his Bandra building 'Mannat', alleging 32 violations of law. Quite serious stuff!
- A script writer Ajay Moga files a case against SRK in Mumbai High Court and alleges blockbuster film 'Om Shanti Om' (OSO) is based on his screenplay. Perhaps, the case was filed on August 2, but media reported it on Wednesday, August 6.
- "Bachchan is the real king. There are many who are around for 15-20 years and like to call themselves king," says emerging superstar Akshay Kumar, obviously, having a dig at SRK who's called 'King Khan' in the film world, August 6.
- Superstar Salman Khan allegedly had a fracas with SRK, calling him names. Later, Salman wrotes on his blog "I don't understand the language of dogs". July, 2008.
- Superstar Aamir Khan writes on his blog "Shahrukh (a pet dog) is licking my feet and I am feeding him biscuits." May, 2008.
- Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan comments on SRK's television show and calls it a failure. Bachchan's fans take the cue and write insulting remarks against SRK on his blog. May, 2008.
Is it just sheer coincidence? Or, Shah Rukh is indeed a bad guy. Or, he has become too successful in whatever he does- some thing that his detractors find so difficult to accept!
Akshay's tussle to grab No. 1 tag in Bollywood
Media is having a field day. Sources in Bollywood say this tirade against Shah Rukh Khan has gone too far. Some suggest it's all an attempt to get the tag of No.1 in the Hindi film industry, which is widely believed to be in SRK's domain for some years, though, unofficially. Akshay, as the box office indicates, is proving to be a gold mine for producers. His films are doing quite well on the box office.
Singh is Kinng 2008Bollywood observers believe, actor Akshay Kumar has been trying to prove just one point; he is more popular than SRK. The name of his latest movie 'Singh is Kinng' is actually a statement asserting Akshay, who plays Singh, is the real king, they say. While addressing reporters in Mumbai, Akshay pulled the trigger, hiding behind Amitabh Bachchan, undeniably a living legend in India. Both actors enjoy a good rapport. Akshay has participated in Bachchan's much publicised stage shows abroad. "There is only one king and he is Amitabh Bachchan," he said Wednesday, August 6. It seems like an innocent statement on the surface. Bachchan is indeed great! But why play on word 'King'.
Though he didn't name SRK but, at the same time, Akshay didn't leave any room for doubt. More than 50 news channels and about 200 hundred papers interpreted Akshay did target King Khan. So the proof of the pudding is also in serving. When media reminded him that he was actually stirring a big controversy. He went on to say "if my comments lead to a controversy, I don't care." This happened Wednesday, August 6, 2008.
Court case over OSO script
The same day, news came of a court case being filed against Shah Rukh Khan and his partners of the OSO team, including director Farah Khan.
Ajay Monga, who has written Madhur Bhandarkar's new film 'Fashion', featuring Priyanka Chopra, filed a suit in Mumbai High Court, alleging that OSO is a copy of the script he wrote. Alleging copyright infringement, Monga's suit states that he had wanted Shah Rukh to play the lead role in the film, and gave a copy of the script to his company — Red Chillies Entertainment.
Many question Monga's motive in initiating the legal action so belatedly, as the film in question- OSO- was released last year in November! Like Manoj Kumar, was he also on another planet?
Om Shanti Om on Sony TV Channel
Om Shanti Om 2007Reporters say OSO's TV pemier on August 10 has provided fresh ammunition to SRK bashers. Timing of TV premier is surely of significance. Akshay's most talked about film, every body knew in advance, was going to be released on August 7.Supporters of Akshay claim SRK wanted to sabotage 'Singh is Kinng's chances. But others say: C'mon, don't be scared. Behave like a king. OSO is just a TV premier. Inadvertently, you're acknowledging who the 'King' is.
Manoj Kumar files defamation case
Veteran actor Manoj Kumar also has filed a case against Shah Rukh Khan, Farah Khan and Sony Entertainment seeking a stay on telecast of the film. Kumar was unhappy over a few scenes in OSO which are a spoof on him. But, why now? Was he on another planet when the film broke all records of success and ran for months just opposite his house in Mumbai.
Salman Khan vs SRK
Salman KhanLast month, Indian media reported that actor Salman Khan had misbehaved with Shah Rukh Khan at a function. Well...it was the birthday party for Katrina Kaif, Salman's girl friend and a very successful actress. There are suggestions that the two male actors almost came up to blows. Sources say SRK's wife Gauri Khan, very sensibly, avoided the scene and walked off with her husband.
Later, Salman Khan wrote: "For the next few days you will hear and read a lot of shit about me, a lot of it.....sometimes when you are travelling in a fast car and you find a dog chasing your car…barking away. You don’t stop the car and start reacting to the dog…u don’t…there’s no point. I don’t wish to react. I don’t have the time for it. Besides, I don’t understand the language of dogs, except for my two - Myson and Myjaan." - 25 July, 2008.
494 fans wrote back on Salman's blog to support him. It's difficult to find out who the dog is in Salman's blog. His detractor or media? But superstar Aamir Khan didn't mince any words in calling Shah Rukh Khan a dog or vice versa.
Aamir Khan vs SRK
Aamir Khan"A cool breeze is blowing, jannat ki hawa (breeze from the heavens), as my mother calls it. Ammi, Ira and Junaid are by my side and we are in the middle of one of our favourite board games 'Settlers Of Catan'. Shahrukh is licking my feet and I am feeding him biscuits every now and then. What more can I ask for?," blogged Aamir Khan. Then he went on to explain that Shah Rukh was actually the name of his caretaker's dog.
Obviously, SRK's fans didn't take it lightly. They were very unhappy with Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan. Press, too, criticised the two actors.
Sensing the mood Aamir Khan apologised.
"I just wrote it out of humour and if it has hurt the feelings of mine or Shahrukh's fans then I apologise to all," he said.
In response, SRK was magnanimous as well as his usual self- witty. "Earlier, people used to name their children after famous people. Somebody naming a dog after a known person is a new beginning in that direction. I don't have a copyright over this name if used non-commercially."
Any one called Khan has a problem with SRK
Bollywood offers many Khans in various sizes and shapes. Interestingly, four of them-Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan- are currently in a position to dictate their terms to the producers. They all individually believe they are the Kings. If some one shouts 'King Khan' in public- they turn, smile in self belief and think 'Oh, it's me!'.
Ah! Bachchans!
Amitabh BachchanThere was a time when all Bachchans were fond of SRK. They acted together. They appeared on TV shows together. But then some thing happened. Perhaps, It was the IIFA- Indian Film Academy Awards- where the Bachchans tried to undermine SRK's star power. Some say, the trouble started brewing when Amitabh Bachchan felt he was getting marginalised in the presence of SRK. Allegedly, he noticed this first at a film event when the hosts Moranis, organisers of huge Bollywood shows, showed indifference to his presence.
Media went ecstatic when Big B supplied them some real enriched Uranium by, allegedly, not inviting SRK to his son's wedding. This was serious humiliation of a co-star!
Many duals reportedly happened between the two, but the latest and the serious one was when Big B initiated a discussion on his blog: “I am unable to understand its (KBC- Star Television’s show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, based on ‘Who ant to be a millionaire) falling interest as the graphs show despite he fact that they were presented by bigger and more popular stars, namely Shah Rukh. And now to see ‘Panchvi Pass’, or as one rival channel executive sniggered, ‘Panchvi Fail’, after its not too encouraging numbers, facing relative lower ratings is what I wish to debate on and would love to have inputs from readers.”
His fans went berserk and insulted SRK on the blog: “When the show lost its actual host, it lost its glamour as well. And, Mr Bachchan! Shah Rukh Khan is the king…but you still are the emperor,” was the response from a moderate fan, Zayed.
SRK top tax payer among all actors in India!
The only good news for SRK has come from the Income Tax department of India. According to their tax report for 2007-08, Shah Rukh Khan is indeed the top star in India. He has become the top tax payer among all actors. Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan are much behind him. SRK handed more than 340 million rupees in tax this year, while Akshay paid only 135 million rupees, briefed tax officials Wednesday, August 6.

Kamees safed kaise?
Definitely, it's the best feature on Shah Rukh Khan, and his current problems with his enemies. Good work! Keep it up.
Personally, I think we Indians have a tendency to hate those who are
too successful. Bhala teri kamees meri kamees se safed kaise? They never belive in whiter than white!
Any sane person can conclude that all this nuisance against Shah Rukh is not sheer coincidence. Now, they are saying even Khan's house Mannat is illegal. Ab tak kya so rahe thhe. C'mon, give me a break.
agree
i hav heard a proverd that means success is measured by the number of enemies you have. that same with KING KHAN. he has ruled the bollywood by his gracious behaviour. and the people in bollywood him are unsecure with his success.
i hope big b is not like that. but definately salman and amir is unsecure.
hats of to KIND KHAN!

dig at srk
Agree that people have tendancy to hate someone who are too
successfull...Akshay got some IIFA award by bachchans just like they
framed and gave abhishek bachchan also a award as best style icon
male.... after that he is joining bachchan and taking dig at shahrukh
khan.just because few of his comedy movies became hit, he is taking dig
at shahrukh khan...
Amar Singh factor
I remember once SRK made fun of politician Amar Singh, calling him 'darinda' (a beast). Now that Singh is king....I think I'm just imagining things but I must say all icons pay a certain price of being icons. Sanja Dutt has never been spared ny media. Salman became the bad boy of industry. Aamir's film Fana was not allowed to release in Gujarat. Big B is in the news for wrong reasons. Akshay is accused of being a casanova. well...that's a small price of being no 1, Mr. King Khan. Who takes notice of Deepak Tijori. The bigger the star the bigger the impact!
I like them all!
I do agree with Mr jamshed that icons and celebrities are under constant watch of the media and public. And they tend to believe that public icons are teflon proof. The moment they notice one simple chink they go gaga.
Coming back to Srk, I must give him credit for keeping his cool at such a difficult time. I'm telling you he's going to have a last laugh. Incredibly, intelligent talker!
One shouldn't hold any thing against Akshay who's a great entertainer and it's his business to promote his film. His mere presence in a scene electrifies the whole scree. Huge fun!
I love Salman- absolutely doesn't give a damn to ' oh what people will think'. He's quite transparent. Adorable for gaffes. Tries to look macho but I think he's the most vulnerable Khan.
Aamir is perhaps the most intelligent actor among all Khans, including Mr. Bachchan who of course is a terrific actor but intelligent....? Any intelligent actor wouldn't consider Black a great film. However, Big B is a legend who has survived such a long career. Brilliant! But he must realise he's a senior citizen and behave acordingly. In my opinion he's not cool any more. He has started taking himself too seriously.
Manoj Kumar ji, it's a pity people forgot you. Please let it go and unfurl tri colour with your family on 15th Aug & 26th Jan.
srk
SRK was never no1 or king..he just manipulated the media and bragged , and blew his own trumpet to be the King...now that Akshay , Aamir , and salman have started claiming their genuine King status he s feeling the heat...in what is he better...can he act better than AAmir, can he dance better than hrithik , can he get better TRP like Salman...all of us know the answer....quite a marketing brain and media savvy that SRK is -his gameplan was to keep working on the manipulations to ensure that he s compared to Mr Bachchan somehow ..s o that the actual rivalry , competition he has with Aamir, akshay, hrithik is forgotten and media and all of us atleast say that " He 's just the King and Amitabh is the EMPEROR!!...This was his gameplan....But he missed out one point--One can't fool all the ppl all the time" ....truth had to come out and he had to fall!!!..see what has happened now..akki has been crowned the real King, Aamir has been given the no1 status by everyone due to his acting n directorial prowess, Salman has proved his better popularity on TV .....
srk
you are comparing srk with all these actors and it proves one point: for an actor to measure how successful he is, srk is the meter gauge so yes, salman can check his smaal screen success with srk, hrithik can measure his dancing by comparing it with srk, waghaira waghaira i hope u realize dis important point!!!
SRK
I USED to be big fan of SRK when he was the King and n01 . Its sad to see him fall so badly and hard on his face...So what if Akshay has been crowned the new King due to his popularity and BO success better than SRK , so what if AAmir is widely acknowledged as the better actor , so what if Salman has proved to be the better crowd puller for TRP ratings on TV shows..SRK is still around and will be around for many more years on the top league ! Just like Anil Kapoor who was the King / no 1 before SRK took over frm him , SRK also has graciously accepted his downfall ..as this had to happen sometime..but consolation for all his fans is he was on top for more than 7-8 yrs...quite gud..much better than Anil kappoor ...with such limited real acting talent he managed to be on top ...that itself is a good achievement ...so lets be happy and gracious and supportive and sympathetic to SRK even during his downfall....we indians have to do this to all our heroes ON THEIR downfall ..be it SRK, sachin, saurav, dravid etc..
hey u fukker saale faltu mat
hey u fukker saale faltu mat bolio mere SRK the Real KING ke bara mai samjha.
Srk no doubtedly the
Srk no doubtedly the ultimate king of bollywood..No one like akki by giving 2-3 hits or like salman by getng more trps for his shows, can b da king...Everyone is jealous of his stardom..He is witty, smart n da best actor til date..No one can in bollywood replace him..Evryone has to believe dat srk is da real king...Hats off dat he has kept himself so cool in such situatn...M sure dat he'll hit back wid his upcoming films billoo barber n da most awaiting Rab ne banaye jodi...
srk
what ever the present senario. SRK is the true fighter. Its a really shame on Silly Amitabh, akshay Aamir,Salman Ajay devgan, saying XYZ against the KING KHAN.
Sad thing
SRK is the real king...I believe that. I DO NOT DENY that Aamir is a great actor, Akshay Kumar has people tapping their feet to his music, nor that Amitabh is a legend. However if you look at the complete package, unbiasedly, then you'll realise that SRK has everything and is still the best. Aamir Khan fails to establish the kind of screen presence that SRK can, Akshay Kumar is not a "great" actor though I think he is the most masculine looking guy in Bollywood :) I just love his earthly beauty. Amitabh has become the same thing that once people blamed SRK to be - stereotypical. He's always that grumpy old man with a sad face and occasional sarcastic smiles. I DO NOT DENY that he has given performances that cannot be rivalled in years in to come in Bollywood, but that doesn't mean he's still the same. Sunil Gavaskar would not be able to survive some third grade bowler from Zimbabwe now, but that doesn't mean he was not great in his time. Amitabh should understand that his time has waned and that he can only stick to certain types of roles. Instead of trying to be the bestseller in Bollywood, he should enjoy his epilogue. He should be ashamed for 'fighting' with an actor his son's age. His actions speak volumes about his desperation and apparent immaturity. Even SRK's time to go will come, but I don't think it is here yet and when it comes he will not make such comments about fellow actors. I don't need to comment about Salman Khan. He's insecure, and does not have the brains needed to survive the industry. He would have done much better with a spokesman by his side. He's mostly smoke. TRP is a poor judge of calibre. It takes just seconds to vaporize. Aamir Khan should also know better than to blurt out derogatory remarks about SRK. SRK answered extremely well, with his wisdom and grace, as usual. I am not saying that SRK is flawless, but atleast he has dignity, something that we fail to appreciate these days.
